The Boyup Ute & Truck
Muster is a local event run and organised by local
volunteers. 2010 will be the 7th Annual Ute & Truck
Muster, which is run in conjunction with the Boyup Brook Country
Music Festival, this year celebrating it's 25th
birthday.
The party atmosphere starts
during the week with concerts and events around the town with many
local businesses getting involved. Friday night is the start of the
main show with live music and dancing down at the Festival grounds
- Music Park.
Saturday morning the utes and trucks come to
town! The streets of Boyup Brook are turned into an entertainment
mall with buskers, bands, dancing, art and craft stalls, art exhibitions,
bush poets, yarn spinners, Harley rides, GWN's Doopa Dog
and children’s entertainment.
The Muster entrants meet on
Railway Parade at 9.00am to line up for the parade through town. They make
their way through the streets to the cheers of the crowd and finish
up at Music Park for more music, games and entertainment while the judges
take a closer look at the vehicles. Presentations take place
Saturday afternoon with prizes awarded in the categories of: Best
Street Ute,
Most Feral Ute, Best Chick Ute, Best B&S Ute, Bundy Lover’s
Ute, Best Local Ute, Pre 1960, Pre 1985, Best Rural Ute and
Best 4x4 Street and Best 4x4 Off Road- and for the trucks:
Best Vintage Truck, Best Working Truck - Pre 1980, Best European,
Best American and Best Customised and a People’s Choice
Award. Excellent prizes of both cash and merchandise make this
muster a premier Western Australian event for both the classic and
feral ute and truck devotees.
Come Saturday evening it will
be time to kick up your heels and party country
style!
